Matthew Lee
Matthew Lee is a full-time routesetter driven by the belief that great climbs emerge from meaningful collaboration, intentional design, and a deep understanding of how people think, feel, and move. Drawing from a background in economics and psychology, he brings a systems-level perspective to route design that considers incentives, behavior, and the emotional experience of the climber. With experience leading diverse teams and setting across a variety of gyms and events, Matthew’s vision centers on creating joyful, expressive, and accessible movement grounded in feedback. He approaches routesetting as a living craft, blending technical skill, UX principles, and a growth mindset to help shape the future of inclusive, purpose-driven climbing.
